Big Buddha, Leshan, Sichuan
The Big Buddha (大佛) at Leshan, Sichuan (四川, 乐山市), built in the Tang Dynasty, is said to be the largest Buddha statue in the world. It stands 71 metres (233 feet) tall, and is carved into a cliff above a river.
